I’m typing this blog post on my phone; we’ll see how the photo layout turns out. I’m sitting on a park bench while Charlie plays at this small park in Niagara Falls, Ontario a couple blocks from the train station. Laurel didn’t care to join us and is sitting at the station with our bags. Our train to Toronto was supposed to leave at 5:45 pm. When we arrived at the station at 5:15 though, we learned that the train couldn’t make it because of some impediment on the tracks. We’re supposed to take a bus instead, but that has been delayed in Niagara Falls, New York and is expected to arrive here at 7 pm, getting to Toronto about 9 pm.
We had a lot of fun here. We arrived by train yesterday morning and spent the afternoon on the American side with our friends Jen and Dave. We rode Maid of the Mist and walked around Goat Island which separates the American Falls from Horseshoe Falls. After an Indian buffet dinner with our friends, we said our goodbyes and walked back over Rainbow Bridge to Canada where we spent the night in a hotel room with a great view of the falls. Despite a thunderstorm, the 10 pm fireworks went on as planned; and we had a perfect (and dry!) view from our room.
There was more rain this morning and early afternoon, but the kids went on a big Ferris wheel, and we all went up in Skylon Tower. I’ll add more photos in another post.
Katie, Laurel, and Charlie,
So awesome and fun to hang out with you all at the falls with Jen, of course, too. I hope you have a blessed and safe continuation of your journeys.God bless and be well.
