My boyfriend John died last week. Here’s an obituary I prepared for him.
John Teeter, 56, of Denver, died of pancreatic cancer Tuesday, August 4, 2020. He was born in Easton, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1964, and grew up in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. In the summer of 1978, John and his family moved to Colorado where they enjoyed hunting and camping in the mountains. In 1983, John graduated from Northglenn High School and later from Denver Automotive and Diesel College. He worked a quarter century as an auto-body painter at Master Collision Specialists in Denver. A longtime Oakland Raiders fan, John and his Bronco-fan coworkers enjoyed autumnal trash-talking. (Do I sound like Monty Burns?) John’s workmanship was highly valued in the shop and with his customers, including owners of high-end cars. He enjoyed reading books about history, especially World War II, and nature, particularly elephants. His gratitude for small kindnesses, self-deprecating sense of humor, and easy laugh will be missed by all who knew him.
He will be missed. I’m so glad we got to see him in January, when you all came down for Ray’s birthday. What a nice memorial you’ve written, Katie.
I’mso sad to hear that John has passed away.
I am so sorry to hear this Katie…you all have had more than your share of tragic and sorrowful losses in your lives! You spoke beautifully of him! Take care and love to ALL of you!!!
