We’re a flurry of activity as our time in San Francisco winds to a close. Today we walked to the California Academy of Sciences – a really neat natural history museum which also has a rainforest, aquarium, and live penguins which we watched being fed. We saw the planetarium show Cosmic Collisions which was excellent, too. Tomorrow we’ll head to the Exploratorium. Wednesday – maybe our third try at basketball or else an AIDS memorial at Golden Gate Park. Speaking of AIDS, when we were at Amoeba Music, a huge record store (Yes, they have actual records.), I was looking at their selection of used books by or about musicians and bought one by Elton John, Love is the Cure. It’s a quick read; if you can get your hands on a copy you could finish it in an afternoon. John is a clear, concise writer. His Elton John AIDS Foundation has raised millions of dollars not only for AIDS research but also prevention and care throughout the world.
