I think I’ll let the pictures and captions do the talking.

San Francisco Botanical Gardens at Golden Gate Park – Admission was free on Christmas Day when Charlie and I went.

Does anyone know what kinds of trees these are in Golden Gate Park?

I appreciate the business clarification.

I reluctantly concluded that this playful merman would not fit in our luggage.

In a Sausalito store window (same town with the Merman in another store’s window) there were two, huge, carved, mammoth tusks in the window and these cleverly posed ivory figures on a table. There were at least a dozen different poses. Each cost $2,400.

Macy’s tree, Union Square

I took this picture from the 6th floor at Macy’s looking out at Union Square’s tree and skating rink. The rink is very popular – You have to make online reservations for a one-hour skating time – but is empty here because the Zamboni just cleaned it.

Hi Katie! Great pictures. The trees in your picture look like Joshua Trees, but I’m not sure. I don’t know how they look in different seasons, but in the summer, they look like something out of a Dr. Seuss book. We see loads of them in the Mohave desert when we drive to San Diego. Hope you guys are feeling better.
